HALLOWEEN AND DANNY'S BIRTHDAY!

We spend Halloween each year trick-or-treating and celebrating Danny's birthday! Danny turned 37 this year :) He is a great dad and husband! Every year on his special day he has to share it with all the chaos of Halloween. He never complains though and loves when the girls make him a "spooky" birthday cake! I am a terrible baker however. My cake crumbled when I took it out of the pan~UGGG! Poor Danny actually had to help me with his own cake! He helped me piece it together so the kids could decorate it. Well, at least it did taste good! I often just order him a cake (which is the way I prefer to do it). But he wanted a yellow cake with chocolate icing so I just decided to make it. And of course the girls really like to decorate cakes so they were excited about that!
Kendall and Terri always come over and spend Halloween with us! We all enjoyed taking the kids out to collect tons of candy! Each year when we get back, the girls sit around and trade candy with one another. We are always too full off of birthday dinner and cake so no one does much candy eating on Halloween!
I didn't dress up last year, but this year I found a cheap ghost costume so I decided to wear it. I enjoy dressing up for Halloween occasionally. Danny wore his ghostbuster shirt since I dressed as a ghost! I'm going to have to retire that shirt of his and find him something new to wear! He doesn't care to really dress up, but he does like halloween T shirts!
Brennan was an angel, Ivey a pirate, and Mylah was a clown :) Kendall did not want to dress up this year but she still had fun and got lots of candy! Our neighborhood NEVER disappoints on this night! There are many houses with "haunted" tents set up, and tables with nasty, scary stuff too! I love it! I am a "scare" junky and love scary shows and such so it is so fun for me! Ivey is my little dare devil and loves all of it too! She will go in every single scary tent with me....even the ones where people with chainsaws are chasing us! She loves a good thrill! Brennan and Kendall are so very chicken....like always....they did not do the scary tents yet again this year! Maybe next year :( It's so funny that Ivey is only 7 years old now and she has been going to the scary houses for years! Brennan and Kendall are 11 years and they are just not very brave at all! LOL

CUMC PUMPKIN PATCH - 2011

Every year we visit the same pumpkin patch. The girls normally like to wear halloween costumes there, but this year we were in a hurry! We made a quick trip after school one day to get a pumpkin for dad to carve! Brennan, Ivey and Mylah had a fun time running around and posing for pics with the pumpkins! Of course....typical southern fall weather, it was quite hot on this October day. Mylah got to sport her witchy halloween dress several times this month! I remember when not so long ago, Ivey wore this same dress. My girls are growing so fast! I love this time of year even though it is super busy with fall festivals, the fair, trick or treating and dad's birthday! Anyway we are always busy making fun family memories and I love being able to place them here in my blog. My girls will always be able to visit "here" and have some good laughs when they are older!
